Emma Robbins breaks own school record in Weight Throw twice on first day of Tyson Invitational
February 14, 2025 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma State Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field once again traveled to the Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday to compete in a record-breaking first day of the Tyson Invitational.
Less than a month after first-year Cowgirl Emma Robbins set a new program record in the women's Weight Throw at the Owen Hewett Invitational, Robbins broke her own record with a whopping 21.38 meter throw. Later, on her first attempt in the finals, Robbins tossed a 21.51 meter throw, breaking her own school record twice in the same meet.
This effort earned Robbins second place in the event, marking the fourth time she has finished either first or second place in the Weight Throw through her first four meets with Oklahoma State. Johnna Orange also set a new personal best in the event and jumped up to fourth in the school record books with her throw of 20.23 meters.
Over on the track, the Cowboys flashed their prowess in the 3,000 Meters as Denis Kipngetich took home first place against one of the best fields in the country this season. His time of 7:42.04 is the fourth-best mark in program history.
Freshman Cooper Moore placed third in the men's 60 Meter Hurdles prelims with a time of 8.23, the third-fastest time in program history. Blair Anderson posted the third best mark in the men's Long Jump with a 7.50 meter leap, nearly matching his 7.57 meter jump at the 2024 Big 12 Championships that propelled him to third all-time in the Oklahoma State record books.
Back on the track, two Cowboys broke into the program's top ten list in the 400 Meters, as Will Bynum's time of 47.28 is good for seventh all-time and Blake Wynne's 47.96 mark is good for tenth all-time.
On the women's side, Ansley Scott's 54.28 effort in the 400 Meters secured her a third place finish and the fifth-best time in school history. The Cowgirls boasted the first and third-place finishers in the 3,000 Meter open section, with Colleen Stegmann winning the event and freshman Autumn Michalski following close behind her in third place.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will return to the track tomorrow for the second and final day of the Tyson Invitational, along with a trio of Cowgirls competing at the Valentine Invitational in Boston.
