Cowboys Look To Extend Winning Streak In Florida
February 13, 2025 | Cowboy Golf
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will look to extend its winning streak to three in a row this weekend when it travels to Florida to take part in the Gators Invitational at Mark Bostick Golf Course.
The seventh-ranked Cowboys are coming off a record-setting victory last week at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate. OSU set a trio of school marks on the way to victory in Hawaii. The Cowboys' 26-under 262 set the school's 18-hole scoring mark, their 54-hole total of 800 broke the school's previous best by a stroke. For the second year in a row, sophomore Preston Stout opened with a 62 to match the school's 18-hole individual scoring record.
The Cowboys' five-shot victory was their second in a row after closing the fall season with a win at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup. Head coach Alan Bratton's squad will be looking to win three events in a row for the first time since winning seven consecutive tournaments in 2017-18.
OSU will be one of 14 teams in action at the par-70, 6,701-yard layout. The 54-hole event will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. The Cowboys will be grouped with Florida and South Florida. The trio will begin play at 7:45 a.m. (EST).
The Cowboys' starting five will consist of four sophomores with Stout being joined by Ethan Fang, Eric Lee and Gaven Lane. Freshman Filip Fahlberg-Johnsson will round out the lineup.
Sophomore Johnnie Clark will compete individually.
Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
