Cowgirls Blow Past Tulsa, 90-58, To Close Non-Conference Play

STILWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team closed out its non-conference schedule with a 90-58 win over Tulsa on Monday evening in front of 2,021 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls improved to 11-2 on the year.
OSU was slow out of the gate offensively, but would take a 17-13 lead through the first 10 minutes.
The Cowgirls would explode for a 24-point quarter in the second, taking advantage of 10 trips to the line with nine made free throws. Defensively, OSU held the Golden Hurricane to just three field goals and six points in the frame to take a 41-19 lead at the break.
Tulsa got on track in the third, hitting 54.5 percent of its shots (6-11) from the field to outscore OSU, 24-20, in the period.
However, OSU would explode for 29 points, including an 11-0 run to force a TU timeout, in the fourth to pull away.
Senior Micah Gray logged her third consecutive 20-point outing, finishing with 20 points on a 7-of-11 shooting night, while junior Amari Whiting hit seven of her 12 shots and finished with 18 points, six rebounds, five steals and two assists.
Sophomore Jadyn Wooten chipped in with 13 points and seven assists, while Lena Girardi poured in 14 points in the win.
