Opening Tips:
- The Oklahoma State Cowboys return home Tuesday night to entertain the Sam Houston Bearkats inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
- The Cowboys improved to 7-0 for the first time since 2019 with an 86-81 win over Northwestern on Thanksgiving night in Chicago.
- OSU is one of 25 teams that finished November with an unbeaten record.
- The Cowboys' seven-game winning streak is also their longest since 2019. Notably, each of the last six OSU teams to win seven-straight went on to lose the next. That includes 7-0 starts in 2013, 2014 and 2019.
- A Tuesday victory would give the Cowboys their first eight-game winning streak since the 2006-07 season when they opened 11-0.
- OSU is 6-0 in GIA this year and a combined 19-4 in parts of two seasons under Steve Lutz.
- OSU is 4-0 all-time against Sam Houston with all four games coming in Stillwater. In the last -- November 2023 -- the Cowboys tied a school record with 17 three-pointers on their way to an 85-70 win.
- OSU landed at No. 53 in the first installment of the NCAA NET Rankings, released Monday. In addition to their Q1 win over Northwestern (48), the Cowboys own early top-100 home victories over USF (77) and Texas A&M (79) with a chance at another against Sam Houston (78).
- According to the NCAA's Wins-Above-Bubble metric, OSU began the week with the nation's 19th-best resume — 0.66 wins above the average tournament bubble team.
- Five Cowboys average double-figure points, led by sophomore Vyctorius Miller (17.4 ppg).
- Per KenPom's adjusted tempo, OSU ranks as the nation's fourth-fastest team.
- The 2025-26 Cowboys are the first team in school history to score at least 85 points in each of their first seven games.
- OSU is averaging 92.1 points per game on 48.8% shooting and have outrebounded all seven opponents by an average of margin of 9.4.
- Against Northwestern, Parsa Fallah (13 pts, 11 reb) became the fifth different Cowboy to notch a double-double – a feat that (as of Monday) has matched by just three other schools: Miami FL (6), SMU (5) and Lindenwood (5).
- OSU will play each of its next two games on neutral courts, beginning Saturday in Phoenix, Arizona against Grand Canyon (6:30 p.m. CT).
- The Cowboys will face Oklahoma on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Paycom Center (Noon) as part of a men's and women's doubleheader. To purchase seats in the OSU section, visit okstate.com/BedlamOKC.

- OSU defeated Northwestern in a game that began late Thanksgiving night and ended just a few minutes into Black Friday.
- Jaylen Curry scored 16 of his team-high 18 points before halftime for the Cowboys, who trailed 40-39 at the break before taking control midway through the second half.
- Vyctorius Miller's three-pointer with 8:44 to play snapped a string of 12 straight Cowboy misses from beyond the arc and provided the last of 12 lead changes.
- Miller's basket, quickly followed by three straight Anthony Roy triples, helped fuel a 16-4 run that turned a four-point deficit into an eight-point OSU advantage with just over 6:00 to play.
- Miller finished with 17 points to Roy's 16 and Parsa Fallah (13 pts, 11 reb) had a double-double.
- Nick Martinelli, reigning Big Ten scoring champ, paced Northwestern with 28 points.

On This Date: Dec. 2
- 2000 – Victor Williams hit two game-tying free throws with five seconds left in regulation and Maurice Baker scored six of his 23 points in overtime to help the Cowboys turn back UNLV at the Myriad in OKC.
Â
Trending:
- Not only is this the first time OSU has scored 85+ points in each of its first seven games, it's just the second time that a Cowboy team has strung together that many in ANY stretch of a season. 45 years ago, Matt Clark, Leroy Combs and the 1980-81 Pokes topped 85 in seven straight games from Dec. 13 to Jan. 7 but managed "only" 84 the next time out against Colorado.
- OSU is 19-0 under Lutz when scoring at least 80.
- Bench minutes and productivity remain a Steve Lutz trademark. Cowboy reserves have clocked 44.1% of the minutes (13th nationally, per KenPom) and rank ninth on the NCAA bench points leaderboard (41.00). They've scored at least 33 in every game this season.
- Lutz has used a unique starting lineup in all seven games. Against Northwestern, Anthony Roy became the tenth different Pokes to log a start.
- On a per-40-minute basis, 12 Cowboys are averaging double-figure points — and five are averaging 20 or more. For context, last year only 15 Big 12 regulars averaged 20-plus per game on a prorated basis.
- The Cowboys have thrived in second halves, averaging 48.4 points on 51.8% shooting while limiting opponents to 38.3 and 39.5%.
- OSU is 20-2 under Lutz when leading at halftime.
- Thursday against Northwestern, Parsa Fallah became the sixth different OSU player to take a turn as leading rebounder.
- Fallah has made at least half of his shots in every game. He's shooting a team-best 62.7% from the field this year.
- In their five games together, OSU's two-headed point guard monster of Kanye Clary and Jaylen Curry have combined to average 10.4 assists with a better-than 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio
Â
The Series with Sam Houston:
- OSU is 4-0 all-time against Sam Houston. All four meetings have taken place in Stillwater.
- The Cowboys are 1-0 against third-year head coach Chris Mudge.
- Steve Lutz is 0-2 against Mudge and Sam Houston. During the 2023-24 season, his Western Kentucky Hilltoppers dropped two games by a total of six points to the Bearkats, who went on to win the CUSA regular season.
- OSU faced that same Bearkat team in November 2023, winning 85-70 with help from a record-setting night from beyond the arc.

Â
Scouting the Bearkats:
- Chris Mudge is in his third season as head coach and his 16th overall with the program, having previously served as an assistant under current New Mexico State coach Jason Hooten.
- Mudge's promotion coincided with Sam Houston's 2023 move to Conference USA, following a two-year stopover in the Western Athletic Conference (2021-23). Prior to that, the school spent its first 34 years of Division I membership in the Southland Conference.
- The Bearkats finished 21-12 and won the 2024 CUSA regular season title in their first season under Mudge but slipped to 13-19 (6-12 CUSA) during an injury-plagued 2024-25 campaign.
- Picked ninth out of 12 in the CUSA preseason poll, Sam Houston lost its entire starting five but replenished through the portal.
- Since dropping early road games at Texas Tech and Utah, the Bearkats (5-2) have won four straight and are coming off a weekend sweep of Idaho and Idaho State at the ICCU Holiday Hoops Classic in Boise.
- The Bearkats have limited opponents to 39.0% from the field, including 28.6% from three-point range. Their pressure defense averages 8.0 steals per game but also commits 21.0 fouls. As a result, foes have scored more than a quarter of their points (18.0 out of 73.6) from the free throw line.
- Offensively, the Bearkats are shooting 47.3% from the field and an impressive 79.1% from the stripe (14th nationally). When they do fail to connect, they've been elite on the offensive glass, grabbing 41% of their own misses.
- Seven Bearkats average between 8.9 and 11.0 points per game, led by George Mason transfer Justin Begg (11.0 ppg, 3.9 apg).
- 6-3 guard Kashie Natt, the 2025 NAIA national player of the year, leads the team in boards (8.3), blocks (6) and steals (14).
- Isaiah Manning, a 6-8 sophomore who played last year for TCU, averages 10.6 points and has hit a team-best 12 threes on 46.2% accuracy.
Â
Matchup Mashup:
- None of the 15 current Cowboys were on the roster when OSU last faced Sam Houston, however two current Bearkats saw time. Graduate guard Damon Nicholas started and contributed four points in 22 minutes, and junior CJ Beaumont logged two minutes off the bench.
- Sam Houston graduate guard Kashie Natt was a three-year standout at LSU Alexandria (2022-25) – the same school that launched Christian Coleman's college journey in 2021-22.
- Natt and Anthony Roy (Langston) were both first team NAIA All-Americans in 2023-24.
- OSU's Mekhi Ragland and Sam Houston guard Jacob Walker were teammates last season at Sunrise Christian Academy near Wichita, Kan.
Â
A Cowboy win would...
- Give them their best start (8-0) and longest winning streak since opening the 2006-07 season with 11 consecutive victories.
- Make them 5-0 all-time against Sam Houston.
- Make them 20-4 at home under Steve Lutz with seven straight victories.
- Give the Pokes their first seven-game home winning streak since the 2020-21 season.
- Boost Lutz's career record to 94-53 in parts of five seasons as a head coach (25-18 at OSU).
A Cowboy loss would...
- Be their first of the season after a 7-0 start.
- Snap a six-game home winning streak.
- Be their first to Sam Houston in five meetings.
