No. 4 Oklahoma State Beats Arkansas, Advances to ITA Indoor National Championships

STILLWATER– Oklahoma State's No. 4 ranked women's tennis team defeated Arkansas, 4-1, on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center to advance to the ITA Indoor National Championships for the second consecutive year.
The win improves OSU to 5-0 while giving it the chance to defend its ITA Indoor National Title in Chicago, Illinois, beginning on Feb. 7. It also extended the Cowgirls win streak to 31 in regular season matches and 16 in non-conference matches.
Oklahoma State started its day by winning the doubles point for the fifth consecutive match, as the pairing of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated Arkansas's No. 67 pairing of Anet Koskel and Grace O'Donnell, 6-1, on court one to give OSU the advantage.
Next, the Arkansas pairing of Olga Bienzobas and Carolina Gomez defeated Kylie Collins and Gracie Epps, 6-3, before OSU's Marcela Lopez and Alian Zack defeated Jimena Gomez Alonso and Katarina Pavlechova, 6-2, to clinch the doubles point for the Cowgirls.
Singles play saw its first point go to Oklahoma State as Nijkamp defeated O'Donnell, 6-3, 6-1. No. 38 Epps followed that with a win over Koskel, 6-2, 6-3, before No. 72 Carolina Gomez-Alonso defeated No. 48 Komar, 6-4, 6-4, to put the Razorbacks on the board.
The final point for Oklahoma State came when Zack defeated Jimena Gomez Alonso, 6-3, 6-4, to clinch the match for the Cowgirls. The final two singles matches went unfinished with Collins leading Bienzobas, 6-4, 0-6, 5-4, and No. 58 Lopez trailing Pavlechova, 2-6, 6-3, 2-3, when play was stopped.
