Cowgirl Softball Opens Fall Exhibition Season This Week

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball begins its fall season this week with two contests at Cowgirl Stadium, both of which are free admission and open to the public.
Off the back of a fifth-consecutive Women's College World Series appearance last season, head coach Kenny Gajewski and co. welcome eight newcomers to the roster this season, with two freshmen and a handful of transfer portal additions joining the ranks.
Gajewski also added to his staff this offseason, welcoming back former great Chyenne Factor as the new Director of Player Development along with new assistant coach Greg Bergeron, who brings 29 years of coaching experience to the staff.
The Cowgirls host the University of Arts and Sciences of Oklahoma on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. for their first fall exhibition contest of the season. OSU stays home on Saturday, Sept. 28, to take on Central Arkansas at 1 p.m. inside Cowgirl Stadium.
A look at some of the fresh faces on the roster:
RyLee Crandall, a junior pitcher from Baylor, totaled a record of 33-15 in her two years in Waco to go with 197 strikeouts in 286.0 innings pitched. She earned 2023 All-Big 12 Freshman team honors and was a two-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Week recipient.
A five-year starter at Cal State Fullerton, Megan Delgadillo is the CSUF career record holder in hits (272), runs scored (172), and stolen bases (151), and she's also the Big West all-time career stolen base record holder. The speedy outfielder won the 2024 NFCA Golden Shoe award after successfully stealing 44 bases on 46 attempts last season.
Junior catcher Amanda Hasler comes from NC State, where she posted a .318 batting average with a .653 slugging percentage in her two seasons with the Wolfpack. During her time at NC State, she totaled 27 home runs, 12 doubles and 73 RBIs and she's tied for the career record for hit by pitch (29).
Rachael Hathoot, a graduate infielder, started all 173 games in which she played in during her five-year career at New Mexico. She tabbed a .330/.386/.479 slash line and tallied 178 hits, 30 doubles and 75 RBIs during her time as a Lobo, while she also finished eighth in program history in runs scored (112) and tied for fourth with 10 triples.
2023 NFCA All-American pitcher Ruby Meylan joins the Cowgirls with two years of eligibility left. Meylan played a major role in leading Washington to the 2023 Women's College World Series. In her two years at Washington, she recorded a 2.31 ERA in 303.2 innings pitched while tallying 343 strikeouts and posting a 27-17 record with eight saves in 76 appearances. She also garnered first team All-Pac-12 honors in both seasons as a Husky.
Freshman two-way pitcher Madison Hoffman hails from Lee's Summit, Mo., and is a 10-time letterwinner in four different sports. During her high school softball career, she compiled a 37-8 record and a 2.01 career ERA to go with 287 strikeouts in 267.2 innings pitched. She's also a threat with a bat in her hands, as she batted .453 with 53 extra-base hits and 89 RBIs.
Freshman utility player Tara Vandewater, from Winterset, Iowa, was the No. 10 recruit in Extra Innings Softball's Extra Elite 100 and the No. 36 overall player in the Legacy and Legends Class of 2024. Vandewater played club softball for four years with the Nebraska Gold 18U National and in 2022, she boasted a .429 batting average with 55 hits, 11 doubles, 15 home runs and 44 RBIs.

Admission is free for all fall ball home games at Cowgirl Stadium and seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for all fall games.
Fans should park in lot 1 and the grass lot north of Cowgirl Stadium and can enter the stadium through the main gates off McElroy Street.
While there will be no concessions available at fall games, fans are welcome to bring their own food and drinks.
