Cowboys in the NFL: Week One
September 10, 2024 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Several former Cowboy Football stars began their professional seasons this week with the National Football League completing its first slate of games over the weekend. Let's take a look at some of the highlights:
Although Justice Hill and his Baltimore Ravens didn't secure the win against the defending Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs, he still made quite the impression on his coaches.
Hill only received one carry for three yards, but he found success through the passing game, securing 6 catches for 52 yards. He was the primary third-down back for the Ravens in week one, so it's exciting to see what kind of impact Hill could make in Baltimore this season.
Hill, along with fellow Pro Poke Tylan Wallace, and their Ravens will look to bounce back this week as they host the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, Sept. 15, with kickoff set for noon CT.
Former Cowboys Teven Jenkins and Amen Ogbongbemiga started their year off with a win as their Chicago Bears took care of business against the Tennessee Titans, 24-17. They'll look to keep their winning ways going this week on Sunday Night Football as they face off against the Houston Texas on the road, slated for a 7:20 p.m. CT kickoff.
It's safe to say Emmanuel Ogbah had an enjoyable season opener for his ninth season of pro football. The former Cowboy combined for four tackles, including that ferocious sack, in a 20-17 win for his Miami Dolphins over Tyler Lacy's Jacksonville Jaguars. Ogbah and the Dolphins are featured on this week's edition of Thursday Night Football as they welcome the Buffalo Bills to town at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
Malcolm Rodriguez's outfit wasn't the only thing that stood out on Sunday, as the former Poke turned in a solid performance as well. Rodriguez helped his Lions to a thrilling 26-20 OT win against the Los Angeles Rams on last week's Sunday Night Football. Rodriguez look to build on that win this week as he and the Detroit Lions welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to town for a noon kickoff on Sunday afternoon.
