Kilcrease Shines, Cowgirls sit in sixth after first round of Carmel Cup

Pebble Beach, Calif. – Oklahoma State's women's golf lands in sixth place after the first round of the Carmel Cup on Friday afternoon at Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The Cowgirls shot a total of 381 (+21) and sit in front of, fellow Big 12 Conference member, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma. The Pokes trail first place, Arkansas, by 20 strokes.
Junior transfer from Tulsa Grace Kilcrease set the Pokes up for success with an opening round 68, tying the best round at a Carmel Cup since Maddison Hinson-Tolchard last year. She sits tied for second place on the individual leaderboard behind only Julia Lopez Ramirez from Mississippi State.
Sophomore Sammie Miller impressed in her second tournament appearance ever. She shot a 74 and is currently 12th. Miller put up three birdies and shot even on the front nine.
Thitaporn Saithip returns to Pebble Beach having played each of the last two years and shot a 79. Ellie Bushnell followed behind with an 80.
Lucy Darr and Summer Lee both made their Cowgirl Golf debuts, carding an 80 and an 84, respectively.
Oklahoma State women's golf will be back in action for round two tomorrow with the first tee time going off at 8:40 CT.
