Kajuru, Komar Rank Atop ITA Preseason Rankings

STILLWATER- Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was well-represented in Tuesday's ITA preseason rankings, included the nation's top doubles pairing.

Entering each of their second year at OSU, Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru came in at No. 1 in the doubles rankings. Utah transfer Marcela Lopez and Georgia transfer Gracie Epps appeared at No. 43 as they prepare to make their Cowgirl debuts this fall.

In the singles rankings, Kajuru and Komar ranked as the two highest Big 12 players at No. 5 and No. 11.

Komar and Kajuru are coming off a season in which they went 19-4 as a doubles team and were named ITA All-Americans. They also reached the final of the ITA Fall National Championships and the Elite 8 of the NCAA Doubles Championship.

Individually, Kajuru went 20-3 from the No. 2 singles position for the Cowgirls while earning All-America and Big 12 Player of the Year honors. Komar went 13-7 at the No. 1 position with six wins over ranked opponents last season.

Lopez joins Oklahoma State after two seasons at Utah, where she earned an All-Pac 12 Second Team selection last year. Epps arrives in Stillwater after spending her freshman season at Georgia and is a former blue-chip prospect who ranked as high as No. 3 in her class.
