2023-24 Oklahoma State Athletics year in review

STILLWATER – With the 2023-24 athletic and academic season complete, some highlights worth noting about Oklahoma State's performance, both in competition and in the classroom.

- Oklahoma State won an NCAA team title in men's cross country, the fourth under head coach Dave Smith.
- The men's distance medley relay team of Brian Musau, DJ McArthur, Mehdi Yanouri and Ryan Schoppe won the NCAA championship.
- Oklahoma State finished 19th in the final 2023-24 Learfield Directors' Cup standings, which evaluates success in all sports. It is the fourth consecutive top-25 national finish for OSU. Of Oklahoma State's 18 varsity sports, eight posted top-10 national finishes and 15 had top-30 national finishes.
- For the ninth time in the last 11 years, Oklahoma State beat Oklahoma in the all-sports Phillips 66 Bedlam Series. The final score of 21-9 marked the largest margin of victory for either school in Bedlam Series history.
- Across all sports, Oklahoma State earned 53 All-America honors, the most in a single academic year in school history.
- A record 12 current or former Oklahoma State student-athletes earned spots at the 2024 Paris Olympics, an OSU record for a single Olympic games.
- The women's tennis team won the ITA indoor championship and spent the majority of the season ranked No. 1 in the nation before eventually finishing ranked No. 2. It was the highest final ranking in program history.
- The women's cross country team placed third at the national meet for the best finish in program history.
- The softball team advanced to the Women's College World Series for the fifth consecutive season.
- Oklahoma State men's and women's track & field and cross country each earned top-five finishes in the final U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Program of the Year Standings, making OSU one of only two schools in the nation to achieve that feat.
- Oklahoma State won Big 12 team championships in men's cross country, equestrian, women's tennis (regular season and conference tournament) and baseball (conference tournament).
- The football team earned a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game for the second time in the last three years, a claim no other Big 12 football program can make.
- Ollie Gordon II won the Doak Walker Award presented to the nation's top running back.
- Five from Oklahoma State were honored as Big 12 Player of the Year in their respective sports (Ollie Gordon II, football; Brian Musau, men's cross country; Billah Jepkirui, women's cross country; Ange Oby Kajuru, women's tennis; and Lexi Kilfoyl, softball).
In the classroom
- In 2023-24, Oklahoma State set a school record with 11 Academic All-Americans as voted by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).
- In 2023-24, Oklahoma State set its Graduation Success Rate record and its second-best Academic Progress Rate.
- Sivan Auerbach (women's cross country), Katie Lott (softball) and Angelica Pfefferkorn (women's golf) were their sports' 2023-24 recipients of the NCAA Elite 90 Award presented to the one student-athlete competing at each final NCAA Championship site who has the best grade point average.
- Five from Oklahoma State were honored as Big 12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year in their respective sports.
- Alex Maier and Maddison Hinson-Tolchard were honored as the Oklahoma State Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, respectively.
