STILLWATER – Eight members of the No. 5 national seed Oklahoma State Softball team have been awarded Midwest All-Region honors by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the organization announced today.
Eight All-Region honorees matches the Cowgirls of 2021 for the most in a single season in school history.
The group of eight are highlighted by first team All-Region selections Lexi Kilfoyl, Ivy Rosenberry and Caroline Wang.
Kilfoyl, recently named a Top 10 Finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award and the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, ranks fourth in the nation and leads the Big 12 in ERA (1.13), while also leading the conference in victories (21) and shutouts (six). This marks the third All-Region honors of her career, and the second-consecutive season in which she's been named to the first team.
In her final season of collegiate softball, Rosenberry has collected the first All-Region honors of her career. The second-year Cowgirl has made strides in her senior season, ranking fifth in the Big 12 in ERA (1.83) while also ranking inside the top 10 in the conference in: shutouts (three, sixth), strikeouts per seven innings (6.2, seventh) and victories (13, fifth).
Wang, in her first season at OSU and the last season of her collegiate career, leads a fiery OSU offense with 17 home runs, 11 doubles and 48 RBIs to go with a .372 batting average and a .750 slugging percentage.
Karli Godwin and Micaela Wark were bestowed All-Region second team honors.
A Top 10 Finalist for the TUCCI/NFCA Freshman of the Year, Godwin leads the team in doubles (12) and is second in batting average (.341), home runs (13), RBIs (46) and slugging percentage (.647), in addition to setting the single-season freshman home run record. She's also the only Cowgirl this season to record multiple 5+ RBI games.
Wark picked up the second All-Region honors of her career after posting double-digit home runs (10) for the second-consecutive season. One of three Cowgirls to hit at least 10 home runs this season, Wark has also launched eight doubles and owns a .610 slugging percentage on the year.
Rosie Davis, Tallen Edwards and Claire Timm all received third team All-Region recognition.
Davis has made an immediate impact at OSU in her first year of collegiate softball, tallying nine doubles and seven home runs to go with 29 RBIs and a .329 batting average. Davis has displayed a keen eye in the batter's box all year, owning a .415 on-base percentage and batting an impressive .526 with runners-in-scoring position.
Tallen Edwards, a sophomore infielder, should be in her freshman year this season as she forewent her HS senior season and enrolled at OSU a year early. Instead, she just earned the second All-Region accolades of her career as she's blasted eight doubles and three home runs this season to go with 27 RBIs. Against opponents ranked in the top 25, Edwards is batting .357 with a team-leading 11 runs scored and six RBIs.
Claire Timm is enjoying a stellar sophomore campaign in Stillwater, leading the team in runs scored (37) and ranking third on the team in batting average (.329) to go alongside eight doubles, eight home runs and 25 RBIs. The All-Region recognition marks the first of Timm's career.
