Bedlam Series Evened Up As Cowboy Baseball Falls In Game Two

With the loss, OSU fell to 20-11 and 6-5 in Big 12 play, while Oklahoma improved to 17-13 and 8-3 in the conference.
Sunday's series rubber game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
Zach Ehrhard led OSU with a 4-for-5 day that included two home runs and four RBIs, while Avery Ortiz also homered twice and drove in four runs.
Brian Holiday started on the mound and took the loss to fall to 2-2. The right-hander lasted just three innings and allowed eight runs on nine hits while striking out four.
The Sooners tallied six home runs in the contest, each by a different player, and Scott Mudler collected six RBIs.
OU struck first with two home runs in the second inning and added a third run on an RBI groundout, but the Pokes would quickly respond in the bottom of the frame.
Ortiz crushed his fourth home run of the year following a Colin Brueggemann walk to get OSU on the scoreboard. Then with two outs, Lane Forsythe smacked a double to put the tying run in scoring position before Jaxson Crull was hit by a pitch. Ehrhard singled up the middle to tie the game at 3-3, and the Cowboys went on top when Crull scored on a wild pitch.
The visitors answered back with five-run rallies in each of the next two innings, taking control of the scoreboard by a 13-7 margin midway through the contest.
OU increased its lead to nine on a three-run homer in the sixth before the Cowboys pushed across a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning.
Still trailing 18-9, Ehrhard smashed his second homer of the day and fifth of the season in the eighth, and the Cowboys threatened to cut into the lead again by loading the bases with two outs but a fly out ended the inning.
