Davis and Godwin Tabbed Freshman of the Year Top 25 Finalists

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball's Rosie Davis and Karli Godwin have both been named to the TUCCI/NFCA DI Freshman of the Year Top 25 list, it was announced today.
Davis, an infielder from Readyville, Tenn., has displayed a high level of consistency all year long. She holds a .436 on-base percentage to go with a .344 batting average and has an OPS of 1.063, all good for second on the team. She also ranks second on the team in multiple-hit games with 14.
Godwin slashes .340/.382/.646 and has 12 home runs, nine doubles and 39 RBIs. She set the OSU single-season record for home runs by a freshman. A converted third baseman now playing exclusively at first, she boasts a .997 fielding percentage while playing in a new position.
The top 10 finalists for the award will be announced on May 9, with the top three finalists being released May 23. The TUCCI/NFCA Freshman of the Year will be named on May 28.
The list of 25 was selected by the NFCA, while the top 10, top three and winner are voted on by the NFCA Division I All-America Committee. To be eligible, student-athletes must be nominated by their member head coach and in their first year of NCAA Division I collegiate competition as a true freshman or redshirt freshman.
