April 24, 2024 | Cowgirl Golf
INDIANAPOLIS – Oklahoma State women's golf will open its quest for its fourth straight NCAA Championship appearance May 6-8 in the Great Lakes State, being named the No. 8 seed at the NCAA East Lansing Regional, it was announced Wednesday.
The top five teams from each of the six regional sites will qualify for the NCAA Championship on May 17-22, advancing 30 team finalists to Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. In addition, the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional will also qualify.
The Cowgirls enter Forest Akers Golf Course after a season that saw them place ninth at the Big 12 Championship and No. 43 in Scoreboard's latest rankings. USC carries the first seed in the 12-team field after slotting sixth in the Scoreboard rankings and second at the Pac 12 Championship on Tuesday, while Northwestern (8), Florida (18) and Pepperdine (21) round out teams slotted in the Scoreboard top 25.
Earning its 30th regional appearance in program history, the Cowgirls take on the 54-hole tournament eyeing their fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship while competing in its second regional in East Lansing – finishing fifth at the site in 2002.
In 2023, the Cowgirls finished third at the NCAA San Antonio Regional to punch a tournament bid, with Clemence Martin finishing tied for third individually.
Oklahoma State enters regional play with three top-five placements on the season and wins over No. 6 USC and No. 10 Texas.
Live scoring for all six regionals will be provided at GolfStat.com, while updates for the Cowgirls will be on the team's social media as they become available.
