Cowgirls Remain No. 1 in ITA Rankings After Winning Big 12 Title

STILLWATER – Coming off its third Big 12 tournament championship in program history, Oklahoma State's women's tennis team remained No. 1 in the ITA rankings for the 11th-consecutive week.
The Cowgirls hosted the conference championship for the first time since 2016, which also marked the last time they had won it. Now 27-0 on the season, OSU took down No. 50 UCF, No. 25 Texas Tech and No. 7 Texas, for the third time this season, to claim the title. Kristina Novak was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after going 2-0 in both singles and doubles on the weekend.
In the individual singles rankings, Ange Oby Kajuru led the way at No. 5, followed by Anastasiya Komar at No. 16, Lucia Peyre at No. 45, Safiya Carrington at No. 72 and Ayumi Miyamoto at No. 84.
In the doubles rankings, Komar and Kajuru reached a new season-high at No. 3, while Komar and Raquel Gonzalez appeared at No. 34 and Miyamoto and Gonzalez broke into the rankings for the first time this season at No. 87.
Going by the latest team rankings, Oklahoma State's resume includes wins this season over No. 2 Michigan (twice), No. 3 Stanford, No. 6 Pepperdine, No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 Texas (3x), No. 12 Ohio State, No. 17 Auburn and No. 18 Oklahoma.
Along with OSU, nine other Big 12 teams appeared in the top-75: No. 9 Texas, No. 18 Oklahoma, No. 25 Texas Tech, No. 35 Baylor, No. 42 BYU, No. 48 UCF, No. 49 TCU, No. 57 Kansas and No. 67 Kansas State.
Oklahoma State is in position to host an NCAA regional at the Greenwood Tennis Center on May 3-4 and will find out who their opponents will be during the NCAA selection show this Monday at 5:30 p.m. CT.
