Cowgirl Tennis Remains Atop ITA Rankings

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team ranked first in Tuesday's ITA Division I rankings, making it eight-consecutive weeks at the top spot.
The Cowgirls are now 21-0 on the season, a record-setting start, and 10-0 in conference play. This is the seventh time OSU has reached 20 wins under head coach Chris Young, and only the third time in program history it has won 10 conference matches in a season.
In the individual rankings, five Cowgirls and two doubles pairing made appearances. Ange Oby Kajuru once again led the way at No. 4, followed by Anastasiya Komar at No. 11, Lucia Peyre at No. 58, Safiya Carrington at No. 63 and Ayumi Miyamoto at No. 85.
In doubles, Komar and Kajuru reached their highest rankings of the season at No. 4 while Komar and Raquel Gonzalez appeared at No. 24.
Going by the latest team rankings, Oklahoma State's resume includes wins this season over No. 2 Michigan (twice), No. 3 Pepperdine, No. 5 Stanford, No. 8 Texas (twice), No. 12 Ohio State, No. 14 UCLA, No. 16 Auburn and No. 23 Oklahoma.
Along with OSU, nine other Big 12 teams appeared in the top-75: No. 8 Texas, No. 23 Oklahoma, No. 26 Texas Tech, No. 35 Baylor, No. 36 BYU, No. 55 UCF, No. 56 Kansas, No. 62 TCU and No. 74 Kansas State.
The Cowgirls are now getting set for their final road trip of the season, taking on Houston on Friday before heading to Orlando for a match against UCF on Sunday.
