Cowgirl Softball tops Tulsa, 3-2

STILLWATER –Head Coach Kenny Gajewski picked up his 350th career win as No. 5 Oklahoma State defeated Tulsa, 3-2, Wednesday night at Cowgirl Stadium.
The win improves OSU to 34-6 on the year (12-3 in the Big 12). The loss drops Tulsa to 25-13 (10-5 in the American).
Jilyen Poullard opened the scoring for the Oklahoma State with an RBI single in the third. Rosie Davis plated a pair of Cowgirls a few batters later to extend the lead to 3-0.
Abby Jones put Tulsa on the board in the fifth with an RBI single and Haley Morgan hit a solo home run in the seventh to cut the deficit to one. TU's Tara Hall was the potential tying run on second base with two outs in the seventh, but was called out for leaving early to end the game.
Offensively, OSU was led by Davis (1-for-3 with two RBIs) and Poullard (1-for-2 with an RBI).
Kyra Aycock improved to 6-2 on the year with a solid 4 1/3 innings of work. Anderson dropped to 7-3 after giving up three runs in four innings. Ivy Rosenberry picked up her second save of the year, going 2 2/3 innings and striking out three.
OSU returns to action when it travels to Ames, Iowa, to take on Iowa State at 4 p.m. Friday in the first of a three-game Big 12 series.
