Cowgirl Tennis Remains First in ITA Rankings

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team continued its reign atop the ITA rankings that were released Tuesday morning, marking four consecutive weeks in the pole position.
Individually, five Cowgirls appeared in the singles rankings while two doubles pairings were recognized. Ange Oby Kajuru ranked No. 4, while Anastasiya Komar came in at No. 7, Lucia Peyre at No. 54, Ayumi Miyamoto at No. 84 and Safiya Carrington at No. 89.
In the doubles rankings, Komar and Kajuru slid into the top five at No. 5, while Komar and Raquel Gonzalez appeared at No. 21.
The Cowgirls improved to 13-0 after opening their conference slate with wins over Kansas and Iowa State last weekend. The unbeaten streak is OSU's longest to open a season since it went 18-0 in 1981.
Going by the latest rankings, Oklahoma State's resume includes wins over No. 2 Michigan (twice), No. 3 Stanford, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 9 Ohio State and No. 12 Auburn.
Along with the Cowgirls, nine other Big 12 teams appeared in this week's top-75: No. 7 Texas, No. 20 Oklahoma, No. 24 Texas Tech, No. 32 Baylor, No. 37 BYU, No. 57 Kansas, No. 59 TCU, No. 62 UCF and No. 65 Kansas State.
Oklahoma State is set for its first conference road trip this weekend, taking on No. 24 Texas Tech on Thursday at 5 p.m. and No. 37 BYU on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT.
