EUGENE, Ore. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team closed play on Tuesday with a 292 during its third round at the Duck Invitational to finish in sixth place at Eugene Country Club.
The Cowboys' 8-over day put them at 15-over 867 for the event and a shot behind Colorado State at the par-71, 6,997-yard layout. Illinois was the lone team to finish under par with its 850, 2-under, total resulting in a seven-shot victory over tournament host Oregon. Northwestern was third at 861, while Utah was fourth with its 863 total.
Ilinois' Jackson Buchanan carded his second consecutive 67 to claim a three-shot victory with his 6-under total of 207.
Fifth year Rayhan Thomas earned his third top 10 of the year for the Cowboys, tying for eighth place. Thomas posted a 74 during his third round to finish at 1-over par 214.
Senior Bo Jin tied for 24th place at 218 after closing with a 72.
Freshmen Gaven Lane and Preston Stout were among the group tied for 31st place at 219. Lane closed with a 72, while Stout signed for a 74 on Tuesday to get to his 6-over tally.
Senior Jonas Baumgartner tied for 56th place at 224 after closing with a 76.
Johnnie Clark was one of two Cowboys to compete individually, finishing with a 72 to tie for 43rd place at 221.
Sophomore John Wild also competed as an individual and finished with an 85 to stand at 240 and in 87th place.
