STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team has signed Madison Hoffman as part of the 2024 signing class, head coach Kenny Gajewski announced.
The Lee Summit, Mo., native played four years of varsity softball at Blue Springs South HS. A two-way player, Hoffman is primarily a pitcher but can also play outfield.
"I'm so excited to be a Cowgirl and work with such amazing coaches and teammates daily," Hoffman said. "I'm also looking forward to the competitive atmosphere and playing softball at the highest level."
The right-hander compiled a 2.01 career ERA with 287 strikeouts in high school. As a senior, she went 13-2 with a 1.23 ERA and 122 strikeouts and batted .433 with 31 RBI, 12 doubles, four triples and six home runs en route to earning all-state, all-region and all-district honors.
On the club level, Hoffman most recently played for Aces Fastpitch under Ryan Taylor, which she joined this past fall. In 30.1 IP, Hoffman went 3-1 and held a 1.15 ERA with 34 strikeouts and only six walks.
"Ultimately, when we started to talk, we really liked the person, the family, and she can really help us," Gajewski said. "In the circle, she gives us a different look than what we've got currently on the roster, then she's got a left-handed bat that's going to really be able to help us. It's kind of cool the way it's gone down and I'm excited for what she's going to be able to do to help us."
Hoffman joins Tara Vandewater, a catcher/infielder from Winterset, Iowa, in the Cowgirls' 2024 signing class.
