Cowgirls Remain Atop ITA Rankings Entering Top-10 Matchup

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team ranked first in Tuesday's ITA Division I rankings, making it six-consecutive weeks at the top spot.
OSU is up to 17-0 and 6-0 in conference play, now just one win shy of tying the program record for the most to begin a season (1981). The Cowgirls are coming off shutout wins over No. 65 TCU and No. 26 Baylor last weekend, winning by a combined score of 11-0.
In the individual rankings, Ange Oby Kajuru continued to be the highest-ranked Cowgirl in singles at No. 4, while Anastasiya Komar came in at No. 10, Lucia Peyre at No. 65, Safiya Carrington at No. 77 and Ayumi Miyamoto at No. 81.
In the doubles rankings, Kajuru and Komar slotted at No. 8 while Komar and Raquel Gonzalez appeared at No. 22.
Going by the latest rankings, Oklahoma State boasts wins this season over No. 2 Michigan (twice), No. 3 Pepperdine, No. 4 Stanford, No. 7 Texas, No. 13 Ohio State, No. 16 UCLA and No. 18 Auburn.
Along with OSU, nine other Big 12 teams appeared in the top-75: No. 7 Texas, No. 20 Oklahoma, No. 28 Texas Tech, No. 30 Baylor, No. 46 BYU, No. 50 Kansas, No. 52 TCU, No. 62 UCF and No. 71 West Virginia.
The Cowgirls will hit the road this weekend for their biggest tests since winning the ITA Indoor National Championship in February, first taking on No. 7 Texas in Austin on Thursday before meeting No. 20 Oklahoma in Norman on Sunday.
