STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team won its fifth-straight Big 12 match, besting No. 65 TCU, 4-0, Friday night in Stillwater.

The win moves Oklahoma State to 16-0 overall, and 5-0 in conference play, marking the second-best start to a season in program history (18-0 in 1981). The loss drops TCU to 7-4 on the year, and 3-2 in conference action.

Doubles play opened with the Horned Frogs taking court three, as Destinee Martins and Helena Narmont defeated Safiya Carrington and Kristina Novak, 6-2.

Needing both remaining courts to take the point, Cowgirls Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez took down Jade Otway and Isbel Pascual, 6-4 on court two. Then, No. 5 Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru secured the point for the Cowgirls, besting Yu-Chin Tsai and Chiho Mushika, 7-5.

With OSU leading 1-0, Gonzalez opened singles play for Oklahoma State with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Muchika on court six. Court one followed suit, going the way of the Cowgirls as No. 7 Komar took care of Otway 6-3, 6-4.

With one more court needed to wrap up the night, No. 54 Lucia Peyre clinched the Oklahoma State win, beating Pascual 6-4, 6-3.

A trio of Cowgirl matches were left unfinished due to the early victory. No. 84 Miyamoto led Narmont 6-2, 5-3 on court 4 while No. 89 Carrington was knotted up with Tsai 6-1, 4-6, 1-1 on court 3. On court five, Novak led Caballero 6-2, 6-6.

The Cowgirls will be back in action Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center as they take on No. 26 Baylor at 1 p.m.
