Cowboys exit Big 12 Championship with loss to UCF

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Oklahoma State's season ended Tuesday morning with a 77-62 loss to UCF in the first round of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship.

Javon Small scored 21 points on five three-pointers for the Cowboys (12-20). Eric Dailey Jr. had 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds while Brandon Garrison tacked on 10 points and five blocks.

7-footer Ibrahima Diallo finished with 17 points and 11 boards for UCF, which opened the second half with an 18-1 run to push a 35-31 halftime lead to 53-32.

The Cowboys missed their first eight shots of the half before Dailey's jumper with 11:50 to play. They scored 30 points on six three-pointers the rest of the way, but the damage had already been done.

OSU blocked a season-best 11 shots – most ever by a Cowboy team in Big 12 Championship play – but couldn't keep UCF from knocking down 9-of-18 threes and 18-of-24 at the foul line.

The Knights outscored the Cowboys 18-7 at the foul line, 16-4 on second-chance opportunities and 17-8 off turnovers.
