Eleven Cowboys and Cowgirls Qualify for 2024 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State indoor track & field officially qualified eleven athletes for the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston March 8-9 at the TRACK at New Balance.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls are well represented with seven athletes competing across eight different events. Gabija Galvydyte (800 Meters), Taylor Roe (5,000 Meters) and Winny Bii (Triple Jump) each enter the NCAA Championships ranked fourth in their respective events. Billah Jepkirui is ranked fifth overall in both the 3K and Mile as she attempts to do the double. Molly Born (No. 6, 5,000 Meters), Olivija Vaitaityte (No. 11, Pentathlon) and the Cowgirl Distance Medley Relay round out the qualifiers as the Cowgirls attempt to win their first-ever trophy in track & field. The top 3 teams at the NCAA meet receive trophies.
For the Cowboys, cross country All-Americans Alex Maier and Denis Kipngetich will be competing in the 5,000 Meters on day one. Maier will be doubling back on day two alongside Brian Musau and Ryan Schoppe in the 3,000 Meters, as the trio will be looking to make it back-to-back years with a Cowboy on the top step of the podium in the event. The Cowboy Distance Medley Relay will also be looking to repeat as NCAA champions, entering the meet with the sixth-fastest time this season.
Action in Boston kicks off Friday at 8:50 a.m. CT with the first event of the women's Pentathlon. Prelims for the running events will begin at 3 p.m. The entire meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ and tickets for the championships can be purchased here.
