Cowgirl Softball Climbs in National Rankings

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball moved up in the top 10 in both national polls after another strong weekend in Florida. The Cowgirls are ranked No. 6 by ESPN.com/USA Softball and No. 3 by the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll.

The Pokes went 7-0 last weekend in Florida, including wins over then-No. 16/19 Florida and then-No. 4/4 Washington. The win over the Huskies was the second-most lopsided win over an NFCA top-five opponent in program history. OSU also picked up wins against Stetson, USF, Yale, Pitt, and Loyola Chicago and has outscored its opponents by a combined margin of 44-8 during the seven-game winning streak.
The Cowgirls will return to Stillwater for their home opener tonight, Tuesday, February 27, for a doubleheader against South Dakota State at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Cowgirl Stadium.
