Novak Named ITA Indoor National Championship Most Outstanding Player

STILLWATER – Four members of Oklahoma State's women's tennis team received ITA Indoor National Championship All-Tournament honors, with Kristina Novak being named Most Outstanding Player, as was announced on Monday.
Taking place in Seattle, Washington, from Feb. 9-12, the Cowgirls defeated Auburn, Texas, Stanford and Michigan on their way to the first ITA Indoor National title in program history.
On Monday, Novak was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player after going 4-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles on the week, with two ranked wins in singles. She was also named to the All-Tournament team at the No. 6 position.
Safiya Carrington was named to the All-Tournament team at the No. 4 singles position, going 3-1 in singles while beating ranked opponents in all three singles wins and clinching matches for the Cowgirls against Auburn and Texas.
In doubles, Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru received All-Tournament recognition at the No. 1 position, going 4-0 with three ranked wins, including a win over the No. 5 ranked doubles pairing from Michigan in the championship match.
Oklahoma State vaulted to No. 1 in the national rankings after winning the indoor title and is now 11-0 after beating No. 30 Princeton on Saturday to conclude an undefeated non-conference slate.
The Cowgirls host No. 46 Kansas and Iowa State this weekend to open their conference schedule, taking on the Jayhawks at 6 p.m. on Friday and the Cyclones at 12 p.m. on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
