Komar Wins ITA Central Regional Title

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Anastasiya Komar of Oklahoma State's women's tennis team secured the singles title at the ITA Central Regional Championships in Memphis, Tennessee, on Monday.

After entering as the two seed and No. 11 ranked player nationally, Komar fought through the main draw before defeating Wichita State's Xin Tong Wang in the final to claim the title.

The win makes it back-to-back years a Cowgirl has won the event as Ange Oby Kajuru did so last year. Komar also becomes the eighth ITA Central Regional singles champion in program history, all of which have come since 2013.

The title is the second for OSU women's tennis players in just three events so far this fall, as Komar and Kajuru were doubles champions at the Battle in the Bay in September.

Members of Oklahoma State's women's tennis team will next be in action at the ITF Norman Pro Circuit event, set to take place from Oct. 28-Nov. 3.
