All Four Cowgirls Advance at ITA Central Regional Championships

STILLWATER - Four members of Oklahoma State's women's tennis team competed in the opening rounds of the ITA Central Regional Championships in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday.

The day began with doubles play as the top-ranked duo of Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru defeated Elizabeth Barlow and Madison Hill of Saint Louis University, 8-2. The second-seeded team of Gracie Epps and Marcela Lopez fell to Kansas State's Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Maria Santos, 8-3.

In singles, the Cowgirls went undefeated, highlighted by Gracie Epps' upset of No. 16 Julia Garcia-Ruiz from Oklahoma, 7-6 (7-0), 6-3. No. 5 Kajuru entered as the top seed and defeated Lindenwood's Fabiana Labrador, 6-0, 6-0.

Ninth-seeded Marcela Lopez took down Saint Louis' Fiorella Duran, 6-1, 6-0, while No. 11 Komar, the two seed, beat North Dakota's Andrea Pineda, 6-2, 6-1.

Play will continue tomorrow as Komar and Kajuru will compete in the doubles Round of 32 at 9 a.m., while all four Cowgirls will play in the singles Round of 32 at 10 a.m.
