Boynton on the start of Big 12 Play:
"The things that I want our guys to understand is just to embrace the opportunity and not get bogged down by the pressure of playing against great competition. I want them to enjoy it also…. I want to them to enjoy the opportunity to see what they're made of against some of the best coaches and teams and venues in the whole country."
Boynton on Javon Small's role:
"We needed him to a be a kind of fire-starter – a domino starter – where the gravity of the game flows because of what he's able to do, and then he's able to get other guys – like Jarius (Hicklen), like Connor (Dow), like John-Michael (Wright) and Bryce (Thompson) – open shots. Those guys have proven that when they can get open shots, they can make them. So making sure we had someone who can get them the ball was really, really important."

NOTABLE:
- Chicago State's 53 points on 29% shooting were both season-lows for a Cowboy opponent. It was the eighth time under Mike Boynton Jr. that OSU has held its opponent to less than 30% from the field.
- During its five-game winning streak, OSU has trailed for a combined total of 6:03.
- Nine of Garrison's team-high 24 blocks have come over the last three games. He's averaging 1.85 for the season and now ranks among the top-20 nationally in block percentage (10.21%).
