Cowgirls Move Into Top Five in ITA Rankings

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team ranked fifth in Wednesday's ITA rankings, up one spot from the previous poll.
The Cowgirls move into the top five for the first time since 2017. This comes on the heels of the highest preseason ranking in program history, when they ranked sixth.
Other Big 12 teams appearing in this week's poll include Texas at No. 6and Oklahoma at No. 13. The Cowgirls will take on three top-15 teams in the next three weeks, with No. 4 Michigan, No. 14 Ohio State and No. 7 Pepperdine all schedules to visit the Greenwood Tennis Center.
Oklahoma State coming off a weekend in Las Vegas, competing in the Freeman Memorial Invitational for three days. Many Cowgirls had a successful tournament, highlighted by Raquel Gonzalez winning her singles draw. The impressive showing for Gonzalez earned her Big 12 Player of the Week honors, as was announced yesterday.
OSU will open its dual season with a top-five battle on Friday, hosting No. 4 Michigan in one of the biggest regular-season home matches in program history. The Cowgirls will also host No. 14 Ohio State on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
