Peyre, Gonzalez Advance to Singles Finals in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team saw two of its singles athletes and one doubles team advance to the final of their draws at the Freeman Memorial Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday.
Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru defeated Alicia Dudeney and Bente Spee of Florida, 6-3, to advance to the final of their bracket. They'll face the No. 4 duo of Janice Tjen and Savannah Broadus from Pepperdine for the title on Sunday.
In the other doubles draw, Raquel Gonzalez and Ayumi Miyamoto fell to UCLA's Ahmani Guichard and Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer, 3-6. Safiya Carrington and Kristina Novak also came up short, losing to Cindy Hu and Coco Zhao of UNLV, 4-6.
In singles, Lucia Peyre and Gonzalez earned wins to advance to the final of each of their draws. Peyre defeated No. 77 Nikki Redelijk from Pepperdine, 7-5, 6-4, and Gonzalez took down Pepperdine's Vivian Yang, 6-4, 7-6 (4). Peyre will meet UCLA's Bianca Fernandez in tomorrow's final, while Gonzalez will face Zhao.
Komar fell in her semifinal singles matchup against No. 21 Broadus, 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 (5). Carrington also lost her semifinal singles match, falling to Elise Wagle from Pepperdine, 4-6, 2-6.
In consolation singles, Novak bested Hu, 6-2, 6-1, to advance to her draw's consolation final. Miyamoto also collected a consolation win, defeating Salsa Aher of UNLV, 6-3, 6-2. Kajuru advanced by way of a walkover and will also play in the consolation singles final of her draw.
