STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was well represented in the ITA Division I Preseason Rankings, which were released on Tuesday.
The national rankings feature the top 125 singles players, the top 60 doubles teams and the top 10 freshmen or newcomer players in the country.
Four Cowgirls appeared in the singles rankings, with LSU transfer Anastasiya Komar leading the way at No. 8. She becomes the highest-ranked preseason singles player in the Chris Young era, dating back to 2009.
Ange Oby Kajuru, a transfer from Iowa State, came in at No. 40, while returners Kristrina Novak and Ayumi Miyamoto were ranked No. 90 and No. 93, respectively.
In doubles, Komar and sophomore Raquel Gonzalez ranked No. 24, matching OSU's highest-ranking preseason doubles duo since 2018. Miyamoto and Kajuru also checked in at No. 39.
Komar, a redshirt sophomore from Minsk, Belarus, is coming off a season in which she was named an ITA All-American in singles and doubles, along with making an appearance on the All-SEC First Team.
Kajuru joins the Cowgirls with an impressive resume within the Big 12, including being named to the All-Big 12 Singles and Doubles First Teams last season along with earning the title of the Big 12 No. 2 Position Champion in singles and doubles.
Novak enters her second season with OSU after having spent most of last season playing at the No. 1 spot in singles, earning two wins over ranked opponents and wins in both NCAA Tournament matches.
Returning for a fifth season with the Cowgirls, two-time ITA All-American Miyamoto has compiled an impressive list of accomplishments, including the additions of All-Big 12 First Team Doubles and All-Big 12 Second Team Singles selections a year ago.
After going 17-3 in doubles in her first collegiate season, Gonzalez returns to Oklahoma State as an All-Big 12 First Team doubles selection. She peaked at No. 14 in the ITA Doubles Rankings with partner Miyamoto last season and earned a share of the Big 12 No. 1 Position Championship.
