Cowgirls Have Winning Day in North Carolina

CARY, N. C. – Kristina Novak and Ange Oby Kajuru of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team captured wins in both of their matches in day one of the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina.
Novak notched the first win of the day in the opening round of the pre-qualifying singles draw. She defeated Aran Teixido-Garcis of LSU, 3-6, 7-6 (9-7), 6-4, in comeback fashion to advance to tomorrow's second round, where she will take on Taylor Cataldi of Wisconsin at 8 a.m. CT.
Later in the day, Novak and Kajuru teamed up for the first time as a doubles pair. The duo advanced to the second round by way of a walkover before taking down the Maryland team of Miranda Minorka and Maria Budin, 8-3. They will compete in the final round of pre-qualifying doubles tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. CT against an opponent to be determined.
