September 30, 2023 | Cowgirl Softball
CONWAY, Ark. – Lexi Kilfoyl hit a three-run home run and threw two shutout innings as part of the Oklahoma State softball team's 6-6 exhibition tie with Central Arkansas at Farris Field on Saturday.
OSU rotated players throughout the game, with Kilfoyl, Katie Kutz, Ivy Rosenberry and Kyra Aycock splitting 10 innings of pitching work nearly equally and 20 different Cowgirls getting at least one at bat in the contest.
The Pokes jumped out to a 3-0 lead after Kilfoyl's second inning home run and extended its lead to 4-0 following an RBI single from Scotland David in the fifth. UCA trimmed the OSU lead to 4-3 after scoring one in the sixth and two in the seventh, but a two-run single from Sophie Page in the ninth put the Cowgirls up, 6-3. UCA responded by scoring three runs in the bottom of the 10th to close out the game as a tie.
Kutz was a standout for OSU with seven strikeouts and only one hit allowed in three scoreless innings of work.
The fall exhibition schedule continues when the Cowgirls host Wichita State at 3 p.m. tomorrow in Cowgirl Stadium. Admission is free for all fans. For those who cannot attend in person, the game will be streamed live on OSU Max.
