Oklahoma State In Sixth Heading Into Final Day At Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma State women's golf team capped off its second round of play at the Carmel Cup on Saturday, ending the day with a team score of 363 (+3.)
The Cowgirls' efforts at Pebble Beach Golf Links placed the team fifth on the day while heading into the final 18 in sixth with rounds of 370, 363 (+13.)
Stanford (-14), Arkansas (-13) and Texas A&M (-6) sit on the podium with under-par scores, while Mississippi State sits in fourth at 2-over. Vanderbilt holds a narrow one-stroke lead over OSU, logging 12-over through 36 holes.
The Carmel Cup sees each team field six starters while counting the top five individual scores. This unique scoring format differs from the more traditional four counting scores format.
Maddison Hinson-Tolchard finished tied for second individually on the day, capping round two with a 4-under, -68 performance. With the effort, she moved into 10th in the field, now standing at 74, 68 (-2) in the tournament.
The back-to-back conference player of the year starred in the front nine, picking up an eagle on the sixth hole, followed up by a birdie on hole No. 7.
Angelica Pfefferkorn finished the day even to collect a 74, 72 (+2) card through 36. The senior heads into Sunday tied for 24th.
Marta Silchenko and Clemence Martin sit tied for 29th after respective 4-over and 3-over rounds. Martin picked up a quartet of birdies on the day, racking up six through two days at the links.
Thitaporn Saithip and Ellie Bushnell each shot 2-over 74 rounds on Saturday, moving Saithip tied for 33rd and Bushnell tied for 37th.
The Cowgirls return to the links for the final 18 holes tomorrow morning.
