STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country held steady at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Cowboys remain ranked No. 2 for the second straight week behind reigning national champions Northern Arizona following a fourth-place finish at the Cowboy Preview on Sept. 1, which served as a rust-buster weekend for teams across the country.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls also held their ground in the polls at No. 3 behind defending champions NC State and Northern Arizona.
Both the Cowboys and Cowgirls are ranked No. 1 in the Midwest Region for the second consecutive week ahead of conference foes Iowa State and in-state rivals Tulsa.
Up next for OSU is the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater. Races will start with the women's 6K at 8:15 a.m. CT.
