Cowboys Back In Action At Olympia Fields

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team will compete for the second time this fall when they begin play at the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational at historic Olympia Fields Country Club.
This year, 15 teams will be in action at the par-70, 7,353-yard layout. The 54-hole event will get underway on Friday and will conclude on Sunday. Play will begin at 8 a.m. (CST) on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday's final round is slated to begin at 7:30 a.m. (CST).
The Cowboys opened the season last weekend at the Sahalee Players Championship with an eighth-place finish.
Fifth year Rayhan Thomas, who finished seventh in the opener, will be joined in the lineup by senior Jonas Baumgartner and a trio of freshmen in Johnnie Clark, Gaven Lane and Preston Stout. Lane earned a top 10 as well, finishing tied for 10th place in his debut.
Fifth year Hazen Newman will compete individually.
OSU has won the event on two occasions, taking top honors in 2007 and 2018. Four Cowboys have won the individual title with Rickie Fowler (2007), Trent Whitekiller (2009), Peter Uihlein (2010) and Matthew Wolff (2018) all claiming medalist honors.
