September 11, 2023 | Cowgirl Golf
STILLWATER – Cowgirl golfer Maddison Hinson-Tolchard has been named to the 2023-24 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel Preseason Watch List as announced Monday.
Created in 2014, the ANNIKA Award is annually given to the top female Division I collegiate golfer; with the winner voted on by players, coaches and members of the college golf media. Named after and presented by golfing legend Annika Sorenstam, the award was created in partnership with the Haskins Foundation.
Rose Zhang of Stanford netted the ANNIKA Award last season, becoming the third two-time winner in its history.
Hinson-Tolchard makes this prestigious preseason list for her second-consecutive season. As a junior, she won the individual title at the Big 12 Championship, followed by a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championship in May – marking the best finish by a Cowgirl in 13 years.
'
The back-to-back Big 12 Player of the Year opened her senior campaign strong at the Carmel Cup earlier this month, logging her 14th career top-10 finish highlighted by weekend rounds of 68 and 70.
Updates for the ANNIKA Award are to be released throughout the fall and spring season at haskinsfoundation.org, with the award presentation and announcement being made in May.
