Cowgirl Soccer Victorious In Exhibition Contest

STILLWATER – Two first-half goals carried Oklahoma State to a 2-0 win over MIssouri in a preseason exhibition match Saturday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.
Freshmen Laudan Wilson and Lexi Lee scored for the Cowgirls, while a trio of goalies – Ary Purifoy, Caroline Dill and Grace Gordon – combined for the shutout.
OSU got on the scoreboard late in the first half with two scores. Wilson connected off an assist from Hannah Chance in the 42nd minute, and just 43 seconds later, Lee found the back of the net to double the Cowgirls' lead.
Purifoy was the starter in goal and notched four saves, a total matched by Gordon, who played the last 23 minutes. Dill saw 22 minutes of action and recorded a pair of saves.
OSU opens the regular season Thursday when it hosts Stephen F. Austin. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Patterson Stadium.
