Cowboy and Cowgirl Track & Field Each Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

STILLWATER – Cowboy and Cowgirl track & field were each named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic teams, the organization announced Thursday.
This marks the 14th straight year for the Cowgirls and the 12th straight year for the Cowboys being named All-Academic teams under Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Dave Smith. Between the men's and women's programs, Oklahoma State has been named All-Academic teams in 28 of the 29 combined seasons coached by Smith.
Additionally, a combined 34 Cowboys and Cowgirls were named USTFCCCA All-Academic athletes, with 24 on the women's side and 10 on the men's side. Overall, the Cowgirls finished with a team-wide GPA of 3.555, tied for the second-highest mark in program history.
Cowboy nominees include Philip Frank, Hafez Mahadi, Alex Maier, Sam Mason, Fouad Messaoudi, Jonas Price, Isaiah Priddey, Isai Rodriguez, Ryan Schoppe and Alex Stitt. Cowgirl nominees include Ariadni Adamopoulou, Sivan Auerbach, Molly Born, Natalie Cook, Heidi Demeo, Gabija Galvydyte, Bailey Golden, Saara Hakanen, Gabby Hentemann, Payton Hinkle, Billah Jepkirui, Lilly Lavier, Anne Gine Lovnes, Maddie Meiner, Annie Molenhouse, Rachel Neaves, Tori Ortiz, Taylor Roe, Maddie Salek, Ansley Scott, Madi Surber, Michaela Travers, Olivija Vaitaityte and Tamara Woodley.
The criteria to be named an NCAA Division I All-Academic Athlete includes a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale in the classroom. Athletic criteria includes finishing the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, or in the top 48 in any championship relay event, for the most recent indoor season or must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships (the Preliminary Championship Competition and/or the Final Championship Competition) or for the multi-events, must have finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or top 48 in the West for the most recent outdoor season.
