Cowgirls Drop Three Matches At Big 12 Match Play

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – No. 4 Oklahoma State women's golf dropped a trio of matches at Big 12 Match Play in Scottsdale, Ariz. at Kierland Golf Club on Saturday.
OSU entered the day atop the team standings with 12 points, just two points in front of fifth-place TCU, following victories over both top-seeded Texas and No. 2 Baylor on Friday.
The Cowgirls opened the morning with matchups against TCU and sixth-place Texas Tech and fell in both matches by scores of 3-1-1 and 3-2, respectively. Following the final round of pool play, Oklahoma State was tied with Baylor for fourth-place, but ultimately moved to the consolation bracket due to tiebreaker.
Han-Hsuan Yu led the Pokes with a perfect 2-0 morning, defeating Texas Tech's Anna Dong, 1 UP, and TCU's Sabrina Nguyen, 3&2. Maddison Hinson-Tolchard also tacked on a 3&2 win over Gala Dumez of Texas Tech.
In the afternoon, Oklahoma State faced eighth-place Oklahoma in the consolation semifinal round.
Hinson-Tolchard and Yu started the match with a pair of wins to give the Cowgirls a 2-0 edge, but the Sooners responded with three straight victories to claim the match.
Oklahoma State is scheduled for a rematch with Texas Tech tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. CT in the final round of the weekend.
