Cowboys Sixth In Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Oklahoma State's men's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational in sixth place at Forest Hills Golf Club.
A weather delay halted the first round and held off the conclusion of the second round until tomorrow. OSU completed 10-12 holes during its second round before play was stopped for the day. The Cowboys stand at 8-under on the round.
OSU posted an opening 294 to share seventh place with Augusta at the par-72, 7,086-yard layout. Virginia grabbed the 18-hole lead at 275.
Junior Jonas Baumgartner posted an opening 71 to lead OSU. After carding five consecutive pars to start his round, he birdied the ninth. Baumgartner offset a double bogey at the 12th with back-to-back birdies at the 17th and 18th.
Fifth year Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen carded an opening 72, while fellow fifth year Leo Oyo was a stroke back with his 73. After starting his second round with two bogeys over the first five holes, Neergaard-Petersen birdied four of his next seven before play was stopped.
Junior Bo Jin signed for an opening 78.
Senior Hazen Newman carded a 79 during his first round. During his second round, he bogeyed his opening hole before carding a birdie two holes later at the ninth. He would go on to post a 5-under 31 on the back nine with three birdies and an eagle.
Senior Dillon Stewart is competing individually and posted an opening 75.
The field will resume play tomorrow at 8:15 a.m. (EST).
