March 15, 2023 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Equestrian's Molly Mitchell has been named the NCEA Reining Rider of the Month for March.
This marks the first time in Mitchell's career that she has earned the honor and the first time a Cowgirl has earned the distinction since her sister Hannah won the award in 2019.
The award adds to the senior's resume that also includes two Big 12 Rider of the Month awards, a 2nd Team All-America selection and six career MOPs.
Mitchell went 2-0 in the month of March, collecting one MOP. She posted a meet-best score of 73 to win her point against UC Davis, claiming MOP honors for the second time in the three meets. The senior followed that by scoring a season-high 73.5 to earn a clutch point against Fresno State the next day.
OSU has completed its regular-season schedule with a 6-4 record, including a 4-2 mark in Big 12 play. The Cowgirls now turn their attention to the postseason, beginning with a Big 12 title defense in Stillwater on March 24th-25th before heading to Ocala, Florida, for the NCEA National Championships in April.
