Oklahoma State Indoor Track & Field Qualifies Nine to NCAA Indoor Championships

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State indoor track & field qualified seven individuals and both Distance Medley Relay squads to the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 10-11, the NCAA announced Wednesday.
Fouad Messaoudi, Ryan Schoppe, Alex Maier and Isai Rodriguez make up the Cowboy individual qualifiers across two distance events. Messaoudi, Schoppe and Maier will all compete in the 3,000 Meters on Saturday with Maier and Rodriguez competing in the men's 5,000 Meters on the first day of the competition Friday.
Alongside the four individual qualifiers, the collegiate record setting DMR of Messaoudi, DJ McArthur, Hafez Mahadi and Schoppe qualifying with the No. 1 overall time in the NCAA. At the 2022 NCAA Championships, McArthur, Messaoudi and Schoppe along with Juan Diego Castro earned first-team All-America honors with their fifth-place finish overall.
On the women's side, defending national champion Taylor Roe will return to defend her crown in the women's 3,000 Meters. She will be looking to become the first Cowgirl to win two indoor national championships as well as becoming a back-to-back national champion.
Joining Roe individually is Cowgirl freshman phenom Natalie Cook in the 5,000 Meters. Cook shattered the school record in the event at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener with her time of 15:24.26, giving her the sixth-fastest seed time entering her first NCAA Indoor Championships.
Alongside Roe, Gabija Galvydyte, Tamara Woodley and Maddie Salek will be competing in the women's DMR after setting the school record with their time of 10:50.65 at the Arkansas Qualifier on Feb. 17.
The entirety of the NCAA Indoor Championships will be streamed live on ESPN+, starting at 10:30 a.m. CT on Friday, March 10, and 12:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 11.
