OSU Men’s Track & Field Moves up to No. 8 in Latest USTFCCCA Ratings Index

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's track & field remained in the top 25 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) polls, the organization announced Monday.
The Cowboys moved up one spot to No. 8 after their only off weekend of the indoor season. Fouad Messaoudi, Ryan Schoppe and Alex Maier combine for 72.15 of the Cowboys' 76.95 points in the ratings with each appearing in the top 10 in at least one individual event as well as participating in the second-ranked DMR in the NCAA.
Messaoudi's school-record time of 3:54.98 in the Mile ranks him fifth in the country to go along with his No. 7 ranking in the 3,000 Meters. Maier also dipped below four minutes in the Mile to pair with his No. 3 ranking in the 5,000 Meters.
On the women's side, the Cowgirls cracked the top-25 at No. 22 with Gabija Galvydyte, Natalie Cook and Bailey Golden accounting for 41.60 of the Cowgirls' 44.80 points overall.
Galvydyte currently ranks eighth in the Mile and 20th in the 800 Meters individually as well as competing as the opening leg of the sixth-ranked Cowgirl DMR. Cook's school record 5,000 Meter time of 15:24.26 puts her fourth in the NCAA in what was her first collegiate indoor race.
In the field, Golden set the school record in the Pentathlon at the Razorback Invitational, putting her No. 12 in the country in the event. Teammates Ariadni Adamopoulou (No. 17, Pole Vault) and Maddie Meiner (No. 23, Pentathlon) also contribute to the Cowgirls' top-25 ranking.
After an off week last week, OSU will return to the track Feb. 10-11 for the Tyson Invitational and Husky Classic in Fayetteville, AR, and Seattle, respectively.
