Cowgirl Equestrian Seventh in Latest NCEA Rankings
February 14, 2023 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State remained No. 7 in Tuesday's NCEA rankings, marking its second consecutive week in that position.
The Cowgirls are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season, knocking off No. 5 Georgia in Stillwater on Saturday. Three Oklahoma State riders earned MOP honors in the win: Sydney North in Fences, Claire McDowall in Horsemanship and Hannah Lovrien in Reining.
The win moved OSU to 3-3 on the season, while they still carry a 2-1 record in conference action.
Oklahoma State's next three opponents also made appearances in this week's rankings, with Baylor at No. 8, TCU at No. 2 and UC Davis at No. 10, respectively.
The Cowgirls will head to Waco, Texas, this weekend for what will be both their first conference and road meet of the spring. OSU routed Baylor, 17-3, in the teams' first meeting of the season in Stillwater last October. The 14-point margin of victory was the largest against a conference opponent in Oklahoma State program history.
The remainder of the Cowgirls' schedule beyond Baylor begins with a return to Stillwater to take on No. 2 TCU on February 25th. They'll then head west for two meets in California, first against UC Davis followed by a bout with Big 12 foe Fresno State. OSU will conclude its regular season with a home meet against the University of Lynchburg that will consist of Jumping Seat events only.
