Kajuru, Komar Take Down Top-Ranked Doubles Team

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Oklahoma State's Ange Oby Kajuru and Anastasiya Komar defeated the nation's top-ranked doubles pairing Saturday to advance to tomorrow's doubles final at the ITA Fall National Championships.
Facing Pepperdine's Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen, Kajuru and Komar took the first set, 6-3, before relinquishing the second, 1-6, leading to a tiebreaker. In a tight battle, the Cowgirls prevailed, 10-4, to advance to the doubles final on Sunday.
In singles, Kajuru saw her run come to an end in the semifinals. Battling the No. 5 ranked player in the country, Kajuru fell, 2-6, 1-6, to North Carolina's Reese Brantmeier, concluding an impressive fall run for one of the newest Cowgirls.
Kajuru and Komar are scheduled to face the second-ranked duo of Elizabeth Scotty and Brantmeier from North Carolina at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday. Fans can follow along through live scoring and live streaming on the ITA website, with links available on the Cowgirl Tennis social media accounts.
