Kajuru Advances to Two Semifinals at ITA Fall National Championships

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Oklahoma State's Ange Oby Kajuru and Anastasiya Komar advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Fall National Championships in San Diego, Calif., on Friday.
Kajuru claimed a spot in the final four of the singles and doubles main draws, joining North Carolina's Reese Brantmeier as the only women to do so.
In her quarterfinal matchup, Kajuru defeated Cal's Hannah Viller Moeller in a thriller, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4. She is scheduled to meet Brantmeier, the fifth-ranked player in the country, in tomorrow's semifinal, set to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
In doubles, Kajuru and Komar continued their march through the bracket, defeating the No. 26 ranked duo of Christina Hand and Justine Leong from Northwestern in dominant fashion, 6-3, 6-1. They will face the No. 1 ranked doubles team in the ITA preseason rankings in tomorrow's semifinal in Savannah Broadus and Janice Tjen from Pepperdine. The match start time is still to be determined.
