Cowgirls Complete Perfect Day at ITA Fall National Championships

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – OSU's Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru captured singles and doubles wins at the opening day of the ITA Fall National Championships in San Diego, California, on Wednesday.
In the singles main draw, Kajuru, the three seed, earned a convincing win over Noesjka Brink of Wyoming, 6-3, 6-2. Komar, seeded 5-8, followed that with a straight-set win of her own, beating No. 74 Charlotte Chavatipon from Texas, 6-3, 6-4.
Later in the day, the pair of Cowgirls competed in the opening round of the doubles main draw. Komar and Kajuru defeated the 51st-ranked duo of Oyinlomo Quadre and Ekaterina Khairutdinova from Florida International, 6-0, 6-3.
Play will continue from San Diego on Thursday morning, as Komar will face Vanderbilt's Celia-Belle Mohr and Kajuru will battle Lynn University's Salma Djoubri in the singles Round of 16. Both of those matches are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT.
In doubles, the Cowgirl tandem will meet Violet Apisah and Vanja Vidanovic from Keiser University. The start time for the match is still to be determined.
