CINCINNATI – Oklahoma State came up short in its first-ever matchup with Cincinnati as the Bearcats were 1-0 victors Thursday at Gettler Stadium.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 11-4-0 overall and 4-2-0 in Big 12 play, while UC improved to 3-6-4 and 2-2-2 in the conference.
OSU was shutout for only the third time this season as the Cowgirls were limited to just five shots and four corner kicks on a rainy night.
The lone goal in the match came in the 82nd minute off a free kick that was mishandled in goal as UC's Ellie Flower came in and chipped in the spill for her third goal of the season.
OSU's Xcaret Pineda had a pair of shots on goal in the second half, while Hannah Chance also recorded a shot on frame in the contest.
Grace Gordon finished with five saves in the match for the Cowgirls.
OSU returns to action Sunday at West Virginia. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. (CST).
